Eric Stein joined Higgins & Schmidt Wealth Strategies in 2024 as Chief Investment Strategist. Leveraging his extensive financial industry experience, Eric supports our advisors in portfolio construction, documentation, and custom investment strategies tailored to specific client needs.
Prior to joining East Bay, Eric accumulated over seven years at Goldman Sachs Asset Management, where he held various roles in performance measurement, client service, risk analysis, and portfolio construction. His tenure allowed him to gain comprehensive exposure to diverse asset classes, investment vehicles, and client profiles. Eric also spent over a decade at RSM U.S. Wealth Management, serving as Chief Investment Officer and providing strategic leadership for their national investment platform.
As a Partner at East Bay, Eric collaborates with a select group of financial advisory firms as their outsourced Chief Investment Strategist. In this role, he engages in portfolio management discussions with Higgins & Schmidt Wealth Strategies advisors, aiding in the development of bespoke strategies for unique client scenarios, facilitating client communications, and more.
Eric earned a B.S. in Finance from Indiana University and achieved the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation in 2001. He remains active in the local CFA society and has been featured multiple times in The Wall Street Journal. Additionally, he has authored articles on asset allocation, manager due diligence, financial markets, and economic developments.
Outside of work, Eric enjoys traveling with his wife, Laura, and their two sons, Scott and Jack. An avid cyclist, he counts completing a Half-Ironman among his most significant athletic achievements.
